Remote Online Notary Services

Meet with an authorized Rhode Island online notary from your home, office, or while traveling—using a secure live audio-video session.

Online Notarization Without the Travel

Remote Online Notarization, or RON, allows the signer and notary to communicate in real time while the signer’s identity is verified and the electronic document is signed and notarized. It can be especially useful for clients in another state or country, travelers, busy professionals, and matters involving multiple signers.

Important: Not every document, recording office, foreign authority, or receiving organization accepts remote notarization. Confirm acceptance with the receiving party before your appointment. We can also review whether an apostille may be required after notarization.

Common Documents

  • Affidavits and sworn statements
  • Powers of attorney
  • Business and corporate documents
  • Trust and estate-planning documents
  • Real-estate and closing documents
  • Consent and authorization forms
  • Bank, tax, and employment documents
  • Certified-copy affidavits when appropriate

What You Will Need

  • An unexpired government-issued photo ID acceptable to the platform
  • A device with a camera, microphone, and reliable internet
  • The complete unsigned document in an accepted electronic format
  • Any witnesses required by the document or receiving party
  • A quiet location where you can complete the live session

Your Appointment in Four Steps

  1. Book: Select an available appointment time.
  2. Prepare: Upload or provide the document and complete identity-verification instructions.
  3. Meet: Join the live audio-video session, show your ID, and sign only when directed.
  4. Receive: Download or receive the electronically notarized document after completion.

If the notarized document will be used abroad, tell us the destination country before the session so the apostille or legalization path can be considered.

Remote Notary FAQs

Can I sign while outside Rhode Island?

Yes. The notary remains physically located in Rhode Island, while the signer may be located anywhere in the world.

Can my online-notarized document receive an apostille?

Yes. Remotely notarized documents can proceed to apostille. I will complete the notarization and process the document for apostille. During our remote notarization session, we can discuss any additional authentication or apostille requirements.

Can multiple signers join from different locations?

Yes. Multiple signers can usually join from separate locations, provided each signer completes the required identity verification and joins the live audio-video session. Please confirm scheduling and witness requirements in advance.
